Decadence Guild CharterWho We Are The core of Decadence is made up of a group of friends who were previously hardcore raiders. Many of the guild mates within this core have been playing since the game went live and have seen everything from 60 Naxx to Sunwell pre-nerfs. The core of Decadence is interested in progressing a guild that is fun and enjoyable for all while maintaining a less then hardcore schedule.
What We Want From Decadence We want the main priority of Decadence and its members to be guild progression. While progressing through content the guild should also be fun and exciting for all members. Decadence is meant to be an enjoyable raiding guild who is made up of like minded individuals.
What We Expect From You There are a few things that are expected from members of Decadence. The following outlines these expectations:
General Guild Rules 1. Guild members will treat each other with respect.
2. Guild members will treat other guilds with respect.
3. Guild members must be ok with vulgar language and humor. (We cuss quite a bit)
4. Guild members must put guild progression before personal interests (Pertaining mostly to gear)
5. Guild members understand that the loot council does not make biased decisions on loot. We are here to progress and all decisions will be made with progression in mind.
6. Run the following requied Apps/Mods: Ventrilo, Omen, Any Raid frame Mod, DBM and or Big Whigs.
7. Please understand that if guild mates notice your DPS is not quite where it should be they are very willing to help. Many times it is a few talent points in the wrong tree, other times we just need to push your buttons in the right order. Please be open to advice.
8. We are again enforcing the NO PERSON UNDER 18 RULE. If you app and we see you are under 18 we know you did not read the charter. Lying about your age to attempt to app will most likely be found out at which time it is very likely you will be /gkicked if you made it in.
8a) Exceptions to this rule will be children of current members or close personal irl friends of currents members who can vouch for their maturity and ability to make raid times. Even then we will hope they are 17 turning 18 shortly. Unless this is you please do not waste our time applying.
Raiding Member Rules1. Raiding members will notify raid leaders by posting in the Late/Missing Raid Thread if they plan on missing or being late for a raid. As an applicant failure to do so can cause instant demotion to Casual status
2.Raid members will be on time and prepared for raids (Flasks, Pots, Repaired, Strategy). The start of invites is NOT the time to go to Ironforge to try and attain mats to have someone make you flasks at raid start time.
3.Not knowing the basic strat of the encounter beforehand can result in you being removed from the raid to make room for a more dedicated person who took the time to read up on what we are doing that night.
4. We expect all raiders to maintain a PVE raiding spec during raid times. Including in many cases PvE secondary spec. Please make sure if you are often put into duel spec roles to come to raid with both prepared and ready for use.
5. After wipes we expect all members to make their way back as quickly as possible. If we have rezzers be at your keyboard ready for one. A wipe is not an invitation for you to take a 5 minute afk.
What Your Raid Leader Expects from You 1. Enthusiasm - Enthusiasm brings more to a raid then any other single item.
2. Research - Research the bosses we will be engaging. Know your job in the fight before we pull.
3. If you must afk please PST the raid leader. Ventrilo/Raid Chat are not the proper place for posting AFK.
4. Excessive afk's can mean you being replaced for the night and if it is an ongoing issue may lead to you being demoted to casual status. It is unfair to make 24 other people wait for one person.
5. Come prepared. Bring Flasks/Pots. Come Repaired. You should be at 100% durability when you zone into a raiding instance. Invites are @ ~9ST. Showing up at 9:16 means your late. Please post on late/missing a raid thread if this will be the case.
6. Keep Ventrilo clean during non farm boss fights and trash clears.
7. If you have a raid suggestion please pst it to the Raid Leader before announcing it on ventrilo. Many times there are suggestions that will greatly change the current strategy making people confused. Lets talk about the suggestions beforehand.
8. Review WoW Web Stats after each raid to see where you can improve.
9. Understand that not all nights will provide luscious epic loot. Some nights will be spent learning a boss fight. Rest Assured all bosses we attempt will eventually fall and we shall rejoice on ventrilo.
10. Have fun. If you become frustrated or are generally miserable your play style will reflect this. Ask for a replacement for the night if one is available.
11. Remember. In the end this is a video game. It is all 1's and 0's. The enjoyment of everyone in the guild is the goal of Decadence. Help us meet that goal.
Failure to Comply The rules above are in place to make the guild and raiding enjoyable for everyone. Failure to comply with these rules reflects bad on the guild, yourself, and lowers morale.
1. You will be given an X for each raid you miss without posting on the Late/Missing a Raid Thread.
2. If you receive 3 Xs without valid reasons for not posting we will recruit someone else for that position.
3. Vacations are fine. However if you post that you will be gone from 7th-12th and do not return to the 30th. Your spot will most likely be filled.
4. Sending a tell to the officers is not sufficient if you cannot make a raid. Post on the forums.
5. Work schedule changes that last more then two weeks and will be frequently changed will result in demotion to casual status. The raiders in the guild cannot survive subbing someone new in every time your work schedule changes.
Loot Council Unlike many other guilds Decadence uses a loot council to distribute items. DKP systems are clunky and present the guild council with many problems. They also allow members to receive loot that would be better off in the hands of someone else within the guild.
When an item drops, the raid leader will link the item in chat and ask who needs the item. If you need the item, respond by linking your current item from that slot. If it is an offset item for you, link your current offset item followed by “off.” If you are an applicant, link your current item followed by “app.”
An example of this would be as follows:
Raid Leader:
Tempest of Chaos, Please link
Member One:
Hammer of JudgementMember Two:
Nathrezim Mindblade, offset
Applicant One:
Fang of the Leviathan,app
Member Three:
Bloodmaw Magus-BladeThe loot council would then talk in officer chat about who the item should be awarded to. In this situation,
Tempest of Chaos would go to Member Three as it is the largest upgrade for them and they are a member rather than applicant or member that needs it for offset purposes.
Raid Leader: Congratulations Member Three on
Tempest of Chaos.
Raid Leader: 3
Raid Leader: 2
Raid Leader: 1
Member Three receives
Tempest of Chaos.
Constant complaining to other members/officers about loot can result in loss of membership status. We want everyone to enjoy their time here and not feel stressed or annoyed by someone who does not understand that loot is done to help everyone not your own personal goals.
However if you STRONGLY feel that the loot council is making a poor decision or is overlooking something, say something to Retired, Vexing, Matias, Undad or Geodee before the hour timer on the item is up. The council is more than happy to explain any decisions made.
Loot decisions will be for the most part be made upon the "Biggest Upgrade" factor. An example of this is replacing a blue item with an epic item as opposed to replacing an epic with a new epic item. Overall attendance, attitude and duration in the guild will also be considered when giving out items.
The general rule of raiding is that loot whores will not be appreciated and will not last in Decadence. Loot is a major factor in guild progression and must be distributed as such.
Not everyone will be pleased with every loot decisions made. Regardless we will do our best to be fair and make sure every member gets the gear they need and deserve.
If a piece of gear drops that no member needs for their main set, applicants and member offsets will be considered for the item.
The loot council reserves the right to have players roll on an item if it is an equally large upgrade between multiple people.
Special Note on Casuals1. We enjoy having casual members in Decadence.
2. Casual members have first priority on open recruitment positions in the guild.
3. On some nights casuals will be invited to raids. As a casual you are still expected to show up with consumables and knowledge of boss fights.
4. Casuals have lowest loot priority. The loot council reserves the right to reward an outstanding applicant with main spec loot over casuals.
5. Casuals who do not receive loot will receive 150g from the guild bank as a reward for helping the guild with
progression.
6. Sunday has turned into a mostly Casual raid night. We will often run raids composed of mostly casuals and raider alts.
